Process Performance Audit

Not "was it recorded correctly" but "was it spent sensibly"

    Checked against the official source:

A financial audit answers whether a transaction was recorded correctly. A performance audit asks a different question: was the result achieved, and was more spent on it than necessary?

How it differs from a financial audit

This is a voluntary (initiative) engagement: the client — the company, its owner, or a participant holding at least 5% — sets the direction and scope itself (Articles 36 and 38 of Law No. ZRU-677 "On Auditing Activity"). The output is a report with findings and recommendations, not an audit opinion on the reliability of financial statements (Article 39). Analysis of operations and management consulting are related services an audit firm may provide (Article 33).

    What is assessed

    • Economy — were resources acquired at a reasonable price
    • Productivity — how much output was obtained per unit of cost
    • Effectiveness — was the stated objective achieved
    • Presence of duplicate or redundant operations in the process

    How it is measured

Without assessment criteria such a review degenerates into the reviewer's opinion. So measurable criteria are fixed before the work begins: planned targets, comparison with prior periods, industry benchmarks or internal standards.

    Typical subjects

The most common subjects are procurement, logistics, use of production capacity and staff workload — processes where losses do not appear as a separate line in the financial statements and are therefore invisible in ordinary bookkeeping.

    Assess process performance

We will set the assessment criteria and show where results are being lost.

    Frequently asked questions

Is an audit opinion issued at the end?

No. This is not an audit of financial statements; the result is a report with findings, a quantified estimate of losses and recommendations.

When is an opinion on the reliability of financial statements issued?

In a performance audit the result is a report with findings and recommendations; an opinion on the reliability of the statements (Article 39 of ZRU-677) is issued in an audit of financial statements.
